ABBS has taken the initiative of disseminating relevant scholarly intellectual contributions to industry through management development programs, workshops, undertaking consultancy and training in entrepreneurial ventures. ABBS solicits active collaborations with its industry partners by inviting their service in Board of Studies, curriculum development, mentoring students towards industry readiness and updating of knowledge through guest lectures by industry experts.


Faculty members of ABBS are highly qualifies academicians with proven professional expertise in various functional, leadership and business sectorial experiences. They work on proven models, conceptual frameworks, problem solving tools and techniques adopted by the global organizations to diagnose the critical factors relating to maximizing productivity, total quality, cost efficiency, market research, branding, talent management and customer delight.

With this in view, ACHARYA CENTRE FOR CONSULTANCY SERVICES has been established to engage with the industry in facilitating them to maximize their performance and value creation processes through customer centric consultancy services.

The consultants and faculty members have adequate and relevant experience in undertaking consultancy services in the following business sectors; manufacturing, automobile, retail, IT, healthcare, pharmaceutical, education and such related sectors. They work in functional areas like leadership, strategy & change management, and in cross functional functions such as marketing, finance, HR, systems, process improvements, Banking, Insurance and NBFC.

The ABBS fraternity believes in conserving and preserving the environment. We at ABBS have taken up many initiatives on empowering; imparting and inculcating sustainable practices that would make an impact on the lives of many.

Our initiatives range from:

Using renewable energy sources is the next step towards conservation. Our current system takes cares of the internal needs of the campus, excess energy is sent to the grid. This is the first of its kind institutional rooftop solar project in Bangalore.

Institute Social Responsibilities

ABBS believes social responsibility materializes itself when it's carried out as a mission in its culture and institutional practice. ABBS ISR involves development of internal stakeholders such as students, faculty and non-teaching members as well as the local community and society.

ABBS ethical practice in transference of knowledge involves various social and cooperative actions and initiatives, in the rational and sustainable use of resources and, ultimately, in its governance practice, transparency and accountability.

ABBS has active participation in transferring knowledge through Awareness drives, Rural Education Initiatives and Environmental care by Teaching, Training and Research.

Some years ago, “Mahatma Gandhi Center for Conflict Prevention and Management” was established in Ahmedabad, India. Ramlal Parikh, a follower of Mahatma Gandhi, encouraged Prof. Manas Chatterji to start this center at Gujarat Vidyapith where he was the Vice Chancellor. After he passed away, the center was moved to the University of Sydney, Australia in the South Asia Studies Center.

The center organized a number of international meetings on Conflict Management, Peace Economics and Peace Science in Bali, Beijing, Tokyo, Mumbai and Bangkok, etc.

Community expectations have encouraged the Centre to emphasize conflict from a broader perspective. The interest of the Centre is to understand conflict resolution processes by keeping socio economic priorities in perspective. Therefore, the spectrum of research is broad and includes not only political, ethnic and religious conflicts but also water, energy, food, migration, environmental and other types of conflicts in the development process of particularly emerging economies. We intend to connect this center with other programs and organizations worldwide. Our focus will be purely academic without any link to political parties or ideology. Each program will be directed to scientific studies of conflict and peace science to prevent, manage or possibly solve the problem.


The following areas of conflict management are to be emphasized:

  • Peaceful resolution of Industrial Disputes Analysis, Techniques, Interaction with labor, business and government.
  • Protection of consumer interests and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
  • C-business ethics and business management.
  • To analyze a country’s business interests in the global economy and understand areas of disagreements with international business community.
  • Social conflicts and its impact on business environment.
  • Peace Economics and Peace Science.
  • Sustainability and business.
  • National and International peace and security.
  • Environment energy and conflict.
  • Disaster Management.
  • Business and society.
  • Ethics and social responsibility of business.
  • There will be an annual meeting discussing conflict problemsin the developing countries. Later if sufficient resources are available, we shall arrange an international meeting.
  • A two-week summer/winter session will be held to teach advanced graduate students about the subject of Peace Science techniques - how to handle conflict problems. Internationally famous scholars will be invited to teach this session.
  • An interdisciplinary graduate certificate program will be developed in social science disciplines like economics, sociology, and political science etc. in a university or Institution with a strong emphasis on Management Science.
  • “International Journal of Peace Economics and Peace Science”published from UK. will be housed in this center.

ABBS has achieved and is planning to achieve integration of corporate responsibility and sustainability through the following:

At Academic Programme Level:
  • The Mission of ABBS highlights the importance of creating managers who are socially responsible. Therefore, the curriculum design is based keeping this in view.
  • It is mandatory for all the students to participate in a socially relevant project and submit their findings for final evaluation and grade.
  • ABBS interacts with NGOs and Not for Profit organizations to offer a platform to faculty and students to undertake joint research study which can enhance the classroom teaching experience.
  • One of our professors has written the first text book on CSR in India which has been published by Oxford University Press.
  • Students are given value added courses related to CSR, Business Ethics and Private Public Partnership which help them to integrate the ideas in their regular courses.
  • We are planning to launch executive training in the area of sustainability and CSR.
  • As part of our Management Development Calendar we have planned courses focusing on creating awareness about the importance of social responsibility.
  • National and International peace and security.
  • We have an Ethics centre which regularly conducts debates and discussions on topics of Social Responsibility, Business Ethics, Professional Ethics, Sustainability, Governance and other social challenges.
At Institutional Level:
  • The new logo “Mighty Mountains” inspired by the mighty mountains takes the shape of three majestic triangles. This is a representation of Triangle of Leadership and symbolize the three principal tenets of ABBS-‘ Nurture, Passion and Future.’ The new identity has created great excitement, energy, and passion among the different stakeholders of ABBS.
  • We have vibrant industry interactions on CSR through guest lectures, workshops and mentoring for students. The industry partners with the management by being active members of the advisory board and academic board to promote CSR related courses and facilitate research.
  • We are in conversation with few industry captains to help us by funding conferences and research highlighting social inclusiveness, corporate governance and sustainability.
  • On June 6th., 7th. and 8th. June we are organizing international conferences in collaboration with Binghamton University, State University of New York and SPES Institute Europe. The themes are: "Human & Sustainable Development through Spirituality, Peace Economics and Peace Science" in collaboration with SPES Institute Europe and Binghamton University, State University of New York. We are planning this on June 6th.& 7th.,2018. At that time, we shall also inaugurate the Mahatma Gandhi International Research Center on Conflict Prevention and Management.
  • The second theme is: "Future of Management Education- Country specific design and delivery with special reference to Developing Countries and Countries in Transition" in collaboration with Binghamton School of Management, Binghamton University, State University of New York on June 7th & 8th. This is a sequel to a similar themed conference organized in Russia by Binghamton University in 1998.
  • Our aim is to emphasize the urgent need of relooking at management from a sustainable future perspective. This would be attended by academicians and industry practitioners.
  • ABBS has a sustainable solar power plant that supplies power to the 5 acre campus and the excess is shared with the State Government. We also have a Sewage Treatment Plant to help in conserving water by recycling.
  • We are meeting companies like Tata Group, Infosys and Wipro, who are renowned for their CSR commitment to help in sharing best practices which can be captured as case studies by our faculty.
  • We are at present in conversation with corporate heads to understand their opinion and attitude on the Government mandate of spending of 2% of their net profit on CSR. India is the first country to have created such a law on CSR.
  • We are setting up a Skill Development Centre to promote employability oriented courses for sustainable livelihood for the “unincluded” sections of the community to ensure dignity to all. We are in the process of partnering with industry to provide curriculum design support and employment to the successful trainees.

The Gandhi Centre for Conflict Prevention and Management would be a nodal point to achieve the above through research. The aim is to integrated research into finding actionable problem-solving activities across business, society, and the government. The Centre besides offering opportunities for faculty research would offer a vibrant platform for enriched student experience, and outreach programmes. ABBS has deep strengths across a broad variety of disciplines and professions therefore it has the unique capacity to offer multidisciplinary research avenues.

As an inaugural project for the Centre we would be engaging in research related to Health and Energy as we have good resources in both these areas.
